  1. What is the last CD you bought?

I just started listening to The xx, so I recently bought their xx album from 2009! (vinyl version)

  1. What is the best part of being in a band?

The guys in the band – hands down the greatest part is doing what I love with the coolest guys on the planet

  1. If you could tour with anyone who would it be?

All Time Low and We the Kings in Once Upon a Time, but my favorite band is Mumford & Sons, so if I ever played alongside them my life would be complete :)

  1. If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be?

Sigh No More – Mumford & Sons

  1. Are there any people who have been extremely influential in your music career?

My guitar/vocal/piano teacher named Steve – he has always been the aspiration and the motivation that got me wanting to play music and play in a band

  1. If you could have any super power what would it be?

The ability to freeze time – some moments are too good to just experience once! And I could take long naps at any time without anyone noticing haha

  1. If your life was a movie, who would you want to play you?

Tom Hardy – he is the coolest actor and almost as swole as I am ;) Or Liam Neeson because he is the man.

  1. What do you like to do when you’re not making music?

I love snowboarding, surfing, hanging with friends, drifting (in cars), and doing anything spontaneous and fun like cliff jumping or running through sprinklers

  1. Are there any bands your fans would be surprised you listen to?

Probably my true side of me that loves Indie/Folk music, and I am a fan of classical music played by string quartets. Also, Hannah Montana is my life.

  1. Has being in a band changed your perspective on musicians as a whole?

I realized that being in a band is even more of a team than the team I was on when I used to play basketball. On the court, everyone has to be working together, but if someone isn’t doing the right thing here or there, it usually isn’t a big deal. In a band, if one person is messing up, it ruins the entire song. Everyone has to be on the same page and be able to communicate with our instruments on and off stage

  1. Has anything about the music industry really surprised you?

In the music industry, anything can happen. Nothing is for sure, plans change, people change their minds, and nothing seems to be set in stone. It has a lot of disappointment, but just as much as it does that, it is full of happiness, fun memories, and lots of people coming together to share in one passion

  1. If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?

I want to be an architect that designs buildings and structures that help progress our society (schools, hospitals, education centers, etc.). I’ve always been fascinated with the construction aspect of art, and I know a lot of architects who are also musicians. That creative side of the brain for music relates to all forms of art, and that’s why I believe I find it so interesting. It’s just like a band coming together to write a song – it’s a bunch of guys coming together to build something and using all of their talents to create something amazing.

Interview with Petter from Her Bright Skies

What’s your name and which instrument do you play?

My name is Petter and i play one of the guitars in the band

How did you come up with the name for your band?
We don’t really remember where it came from but it’s in an old poem about the American Civil War. Maybe that’s where it came from.

Where do you get your inspiration from your songs and music?
From everyday life and just hearing lots of music everywhere you go. Like on the bus, stores, TV, whatever really. Everything is inpiring of you just let it.

What are you planning on doing in the future? (Goals? Plans? Music collaborations?)
We’re going to release a record this fall and hopefully tour like crazy. Other than that we want to put out as many music videos as possible to make our fanbase grow. Also we’re planning on a small documentary about the recording of the album in America.

What is your favorite song from your music?
Probably Shake U! I was very happy about how that song came out and it means alot to me personally.

Who would you like to tour with?
Any band that pulls a big crowd and are nice dudes! But i mean, Taking Back Sunday would be nice. Or Foo Fighters.

What was the last CD you bought?
I think it was Rotten Apples by The Smashing Pumpkins. It’s like a Best of. Get it if you haven’t heard The Smashing Pumpkins.

Have you ever gone on tour/who would you like to go on tour with?
Yeah we’ve been touring alot but this last year has been all about the writing!

Who is your celebrity crush?
Taylor Swift probably! Sexy and cute at the same time! Can’t beat that.

What is considered your perfect date?

Just a natural conversation throughout the date i suppose. Getting a bit tipsy and end up doing something crazy!

How did your band form?
Back in the day we used to go to all the local shows in our hometown and that’s how we met. Everybody knew what other people where into so it all came together pretty smoothly.

What was one of your favorite experiences performing and where was it?
Have to say our release gig in our hometown. It was alot of people there and many of them were old friends. Meant alot actually so yeah.. that’s it.

If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl believe it or not. Kind of awkward but hey..

Is there anything in particular that you guys would like/have backstage at venues?
A private carnival or something like that. Video games and all kinds of weird arcade stuff.

Favorite way to spend a rainy day?
Xbox 360.. or sex. Or both.. simultaneously
